NightWind Arabians offers Group and private youth lessons!

 

Group Lessons are available during the weekdays year-round.

Our group lessons are considered semi-private with a maximun of 4 students in each class, this is to ensure that each student recieves 1 on 1 training each class as well as ensures that each student receives the proper instruction.

Pre-Riders 

 

Created especially for kids ages 4 through 6, Junior Riders begin to develop basic horsemanship skills; grooming, tacking, leading & stable care.  These riders begin developing the correct position, balance, cues to ask the horse to do something through arena exercises & games. Junior Riders are designated to use the most experienced beginner level lesson horses on site, to ensure maximum fun and safety.  Only available on Saturdays, October thru March.

 

Class Length: 1 hour
Cost: $30/ class

 

Novice Riders 

 

Ideal for the new horse enthusiast or those who have ridden "a long time ago". Novice Rider classes teaches or refreshes all of the horse basics, safety, grooming, tacking, handling and body language. In the saddle you will practice concepts at the walk & trot , correct riding position, proper cues, arena figures, relaxing the horse and rhythm of the body.

 

Class Length: 1 hour
Cost: $30/ class

 

Junior Riders 

For riders who have completed Novice Riders or have the equivalent amount of horse experience.   Junior Riders educates on horse psychology as well as more herd behavior, health care and stable management. In the saddle, students will advance their skills at the trot, working towards perfecting cues at a greater pace, students will learn to bend the horse, working with more obstacles, and progressing to outdoor rides in the summer.

Class Length: 1 hour riding lesson, with additional extended time for outdoor rides. ( Outdoor rides are student optional and based upon weather and the class progression.)
Cost: $30/class

 

Intermediate Riders 

 

For the rider who has progressed from Juniors or Novice or has been assessed to enter Advanced Junior Riders.   Intermediate & Advanced Junior Riders begin exploring the canter.  Practicing dressage patterns and work over ground poles in preparation for lengthy rugged outdoor trails . Riders begin to control and perfect movement and bend of the horse at a Canter. Once again outdoor rides are available but optional to the rider.

Advanced Riders 

 

For the Advanced Junior Riders graduate with equivalent experience and understanding of concepts. Senior Riders begin by achieving proper collection of the horse. Dressage riding techniques are emphasized. Riders are taught lateral work in which they are able to perfect and practice. Senior Riders are eligible to ride with the Endurance team offsite for outdoor training rides with a designated or leased horse.

Adult Riders - Please inquire for appropriate class placement!

We have separate classes for our Adult riders. While the classes are separate from the children's classes, the levels listed to the above are the same. Adult classes are specifically designed to help with flexibility, dexterity, co-ordination, muscle memory & of course riding skills. NightWind Arabians adult classes are able to be specialized to help with rehabilitation and disability.

Semi-private or Private Riders

NightWind Arabians offers semi-private (2 riders) and private lessons to students or adults with their own horses or who are leasing.  Smaller groups work well for many situations including working with young horses and specific training needs or goals.  These are mandatory for the individual riders leasing, who are entering the NightWind Arabians Endurance Team.
